Clearwater collects mattress weekly at the curb on your regular collection day with no need to call — each single-family home is allowed up to 40 cubic yards of bulk per calendar year, and roughly four to five pieces of furniture at a time is the practical guideline. Larger amounts may draw additional time charges. Call 727-562-4920 ahead for appliances or electronics.

Take motor oil to the Pinellas County Household Hazardous Waste Center at 2855 109th Avenue N in St. Petersburg, a permanent facility open select days a week 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and free for county households. HHW North at 29582 U.S. 19 N in Clearwater is closer but only open select Saturdays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. — check the county events calendar first. As of the current county guidance, electronics, appliances, fire extinguishers, propane tanks over one pound, medicine, sharps, and vehicle batteries are NOT accepted at HHW; call 727-464-7500 to confirm before hauling.

Clearwater tells residents to place household electronics inside the black barrel trash cart rather than on the ground, and to call 727-562-4920 for a special pickup if e waste mixed is too large for the barrel. If the device has a rechargeable battery you cannot remove, take it to a Pinellas County drop-off location instead — battery-containing devices start fires in collection trucks. Recycling and reuse options are also available. Wipe your data first.
