Bulky pickup in Fort Lauderdale
Mattresses, furniture, and many appliances — city bulk or drop-off, not the regular cart.
Official source:
Fort Lauderdale mattresss go on monthly bulk collection day (WM) — max 10 cubic yards; set out ≤24 hours before, by 7 a.m. Keep HHW for regional events. C&D/concrete not in bulk.
Household hazardous waste — used oil, paint, propane, batteries, and chemicals.
Official source:
Take motor oil to regional Household Hazardous Waste/electronics drop-off events listed on fortlauderdale.gov/HHW (Coral Springs, Coconut Creek, Pompano Beach, etc.) — no permanent Fort Lauderdale HHW depot and not in Broward drop-off centers. Keep chemicals off bulk piles.
TVs, computers, and electronics. Usually banned from trash and the blue bin.
Official source:
Fort Lauderdale residents schedule curbside electronics pickup by 4 p.m. the day before recycling day (call 954-828-8000 or online). e waste mixed also accepted at regional HHW/electronics events listed on fortlauderdale.gov/HHW. Wipe data. City is NOT in Broward residential drop-off centers program.
Cart recycling, store film take-back, and foam rules — not a second bulky program.
Official source:
Fort Lauderdale recycling carts do not want expanded polystyrene (EPS). White block foam, packing peanuts, and food trays are different streams. Grocery film/bag bins are not a foam drop-off. Fort Lauderdale Sanitation — Collection Programs is the official Fort Lauderdale program we verified — if that page only mentions plastic bags or film, treat block foam and food trays as bagged garbage unless it names a foam densifier. Clean peanuts may be reused at a shipper; starch peanuts are not EPS.
