Bulky pickup in Tallahassee
Mattresses, furniture, and many appliances — city bulk or drop-off, not the regular cart.
Official source:
Tallahassee mattresss go on every-other-week bulky (furniture/mattresses/small appliances within ~6×4×4 ft). Larger items use Cash for Trash events or special pickup (fee). Keep HHW for Leon County Hazardous Waste Center.
Household hazardous waste — used oil, paint, propane, batteries, and chemicals.
Official source:
Take motor oil to Leon County Hazardous Waste Center, 7550 Apalachee Parkway (Mon–Sat 8–5) — free permanent HHW/e-waste. City Cash for Trash also accepts HHW on event days. Keep chemicals off bulky piles.
TVs, computers, and electronics. Usually banned from trash and the blue bin.
Official source:
Tallahassee utility customers can request Thursday electronics pickup; year-round drop-off for e waste mixed at Leon County Hazardous Waste Center, 7550 Apalachee Parkway (Mon–Sat 8–5, free). Wipe data.
Cart recycling, store film take-back, and foam rules — not a second bulky program.
Official source:
Tallahassee recycling carts do not want expanded polystyrene (EPS). White block foam, packing peanuts, and food trays are different streams. Grocery film/bag bins are not a foam drop-off. City of Tallahassee — Bulky Waste is the official Tallahassee program we verified — if that page only mentions plastic bags or film, treat block foam and food trays as bagged garbage unless it names a foam densifier. Clean peanuts may be reused at a shipper; starch peanuts are not EPS.
