Vanderburgh County runs Tox-Away Days twice a year for paint oil — spring and fall Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon in the former Roberts Stadium parking lot, entering on E. Franklin Street behind Swonder Ice Arena. There is no permanent HHW facility. Events accept motor oil, oil-based paint, automotive fluids and batteries, solvents, gasoline, antifreeze, pesticides, pool chemicals, fluorescent bulbs, propane tanks, smoke detectors, and fire extinguishers, but not appliances, electronics, or latex paint.
