Bulky pickup in New Orleans
Mattresses, furniture, and many appliances — city bulk or drop-off, not the regular cart.
Official source:
New Orleans bulky waste is scheduled through 311. Set mattresses and furniture out no more than 24 hours before pickup. Call or use 311 to schedule bulky collection per nola.gov/trash guidance.
TVs, computers, and electronics. Usually banned from trash and the blue bin.
Official source:
Electronics including mixed e-waste go to New Orleans Recycling Drop-Off at 2829 Elysian Fields Ave on designated HHW calendar days — limit 4 TVs. Saturdays 8 a.m.–1 p.m. for general drop-off; check nola.gov/recycling-drop-off for HHW days. Wipe data before drop-off.
Construction debris, concrete, and remodel waste — transfer station or roll-off.
Official source:
Limited homeowner C&D may go on New Orleans bulky collection when scheduled via 311. Larger contractor loads need a private C&D hauler. Route paint/chemicals to HHW drop-off separately.
Cart recycling, store film take-back, and foam rules — not a second bulky program.
Official source:
New Orleans recycling carts do not want expanded polystyrene (EPS). White block foam, packing peanuts, and food trays are different streams. Grocery film/bag bins are not a foam drop-off. City of New Orleans — Bulky waste via 311 is the official New Orleans program we verified — if that page only mentions plastic bags or film, treat block foam and food trays as bagged garbage unless it names a foam densifier. Clean peanuts may be reused at a shipper; starch peanuts are not EPS.
