Bulky pickup in Phoenix
Mattresses, furniture, and many appliances — city bulk or drop-off, not the regular cart.
Official source:
Use City of Phoenix bulk-item collection for mattresses. Do not put HHW in trash/recycling. For chemicals/electronics/batteries, schedule Phoenix’s HHW home collection (separate program).
Household hazardous waste — used oil, paint, propane, batteries, and chemicals.
Official source:
Phoenix residential solid-waste customers can schedule one free HHW home collection per calendar year for accepted household hazardous materials (see the city’s accepted-materials list). Schedule online or via hhwcollection@phoenix.gov. Place sealed items in a box labeled “HHW” next to the garage/front door by 7 a.m. (not at the curb). Collection window is 7 a.m.–5 p.m. Electronics with batteries may also use partner options such as Westech Recyclers per city pages.
TVs, computers, and electronics. Usually banned from trash and the blue bin.

Construction debris, concrete, and remodel waste — transfer station or roll-off.
Official source:
Construction debris is not the Phoenix HHW home-collection pathway. Use a debris box or transfer option; keep paint/chemicals/batteries for HHW scheduling.
Cart recycling, store film take-back, and foam rules — not a second bulky program.
Official source:
Phoenix recycling carts do not want expanded polystyrene (EPS). White block foam, packing peanuts, and food trays are different streams. Grocery film/bag bins are not a foam drop-off. City of Phoenix Public Works — Residential Trash & Recycling is the official Phoenix program we verified — if that page only mentions plastic bags or film, treat block foam and food trays as bagged garbage unless it names a foam densifier. Clean peanuts may be reused at a shipper; starch peanuts are not EPS.
