Bulky pickup in Tucson
Mattresses, furniture, and many appliances — city bulk or drop-off, not the regular cart.
Official source:
Tucson Brush and Bulky runs twice per year on a zone sweep — set items out by 6 a.m. Monday of your assigned week (max 10 cubic yards; no appointment for scheduled sweep). Mattresses and furniture go on Brush and Bulky. Need an extra pickup? Special Brush and Bulky costs $55 per event (up to 10 cy) via 311 or 520-791-3171.
Household hazardous waste — used oil, paint, propane, batteries, and chemicals.
Official source:
Tucson HHW at Los Reales Sustainability Campus, 5300 E Los Reales Rd accepts household hazardous materials Thu–Sat 7 a.m.–2 p.m. (closed 2nd Saturday/month); free for Tucson residents. Used motor oil accepted at HHW.
TVs, computers, and electronics. Usually banned from trash and the blue bin.
Official source:
Tucson accepts mixed electronic waste at the Household Hazardous Waste program at Los Reales Sustainability Campus, 5300 E Los Reales Rd — Thu–Sat 7 a.m.–2 p.m. (closed 2nd Saturday of each month); free for Tucson residents. CRT monitors are NOT accepted. E-waste and TVs do NOT go on Brush and Bulky.
Construction debris, concrete, and remodel waste — transfer station or roll-off.
Official source:
Small homeowner renovation debris may fit within Brush and Bulky limits (max 10 cubic yards per sweep). Larger loads need Los Reales or a private C&D hauler. Route paint and chemicals to Los Reales HHW separately.
Yard waste, food scraps, and cooking oil where the city has a separate stream.
Official source:
Tucson handles yard waste through regular collection programs. Follow city set-out rules for bags and bundles. Keep yard waste out of Brush and Bulky piles meant for bulky items and out of Los Reales HHW.
Cart recycling, store film take-back, and foam rules — not a second bulky program.
Official source:
Tucson recycling carts do not want expanded polystyrene (EPS). White block foam, packing peanuts, and food trays are different streams. Grocery film/bag bins are not a foam drop-off. City of Tucson — Brush and Bulky is the official Tucson program we verified — if that page only mentions plastic bags or film, treat block foam and food trays as bagged garbage unless it names a foam densifier. Clean peanuts may be reused at a shipper; starch peanuts are not EPS.
