Ann Arbor mattresss go to the Recycle Ann Arbor Drop-Off Station at 2950 East Ellsworth Road, which charges a published $3 residential gate fee per day plus per-item charges (for example $25 for a sofa and $10 for an armchair). It is open Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m., Friday 7 a.m.–4 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Credit cards only — no cash or checks.

Take motor oil to the Washtenaw County Home Toxics Center at 705 N Zeeb Road, free for county residents. Saturday drop-off runs on a seasonal schedule and weekday appointments are handled at the county's Northville site, so call 734-222-3950 or check washtenaw.org for current dates before you go. The Drop-Off Station on Ellsworth does not take paints, varnishes, or toxics.

Construction debris goes to the Recycle Ann Arbor Drop-Off Station as general waste at a published $28 per cubic yard, with concrete or shingles at $35 per cubic yard and clean unpainted wood at $18 per cubic yard. Asbestos, brick, and granite are not accepted. Route paint to the county Home Toxics Center.

Ann Arbor recycling carts do not want expanded polystyrene (EPS). White block foam, packing peanuts, and food trays are different streams. Grocery film/bag bins are not a foam drop-off. City of Ann Arbor — Trash & Recycling is the official Ann Arbor program we verified — if that page only mentions plastic bags or film, treat block foam and food trays as bagged garbage unless it names a foam densifier. Clean peanuts may be reused at a shipper; starch peanuts are not EPS.
