Bulky pickup in Lansing
Mattresses, furniture, and many appliances — city bulk or drop-off, not the regular cart.
Official source:
Lansing mattresss go on city bulk collection — submit the online bulk request. Keep HHW for Ingham County (seasonal). Electronics are not accepted at county HHW.
Household hazardous waste — used oil, paint, propane, batteries, and chemicals.
Official source:
Take motor oil to Ingham County HHW, 5303 S Cedar Street, Lansing — May–September, Tuesday and Thursday 2–6pm only. Closed October–April. Oil-based paint/stain accepted; latex paint is not (dry and trash). No e-waste, appliances, or waste oil. Keep chemicals off bulk piles.
Cart recycling, store film take-back, and foam rules — not a second bulky program.
Official source:
Lansing recycling carts do not want expanded polystyrene (EPS). White block foam, packing peanuts, and food trays are different streams. Grocery film/bag bins are not a foam drop-off. City of Lansing — Bulk Item Collection is the official Lansing program we verified — if that page only mentions plastic bags or film, treat block foam and food trays as bagged garbage unless it names a foam densifier. Clean peanuts may be reused at a shipper; starch peanuts are not EPS.
