In Detroit, led bulbs follows the same verified program pathway as fluorescent bulbs. Take household hazardous materials to Detroit’s HHW Receiving Facility at 2000 E. Ferry Street (Detroit residents only, free). Hours: Thursdays 7:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and the 4th Saturday 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Accepted streams include paint, batteries (alkaline and auto), fluorescents, propane, gasoline, oil, antifreeze, OTC medications, and related HHW. Fluorescent lamps are accepted at HHW. The facility does not accept AC units, appliances, C&D, ammo, commercial waste, car parts, yard waste, or ordinary trash.
