Bulky pickup in Reno
Mattresses, furniture, and many appliances — city bulk or drop-off, not the regular cart.
Official source:
Reno has NO year-round city curbside bulk for mattresses. Options: spring cleanup roll-offs, Lockwood Landfill free dump days, or Waste Management paid bulk pickup — call 775-329-8822. Confirm event dates on reno.gov.
TVs, computers, and electronics. Usually banned from trash and the blue bin.
Official source:
Reno electronics including mixed e-waste are NOT accepted at bulky-only cleanup events. Use Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB) e-waste guide, combined HHW+e-waste events, or Lockwood Landfill (fee). Wipe data before drop-off.
Construction debris, concrete, and remodel waste — transfer station or roll-off.
Official source:
Construction debris is not Reno spring cleanup roll-off material. Haul to Lockwood Landfill (fee) or hire a private C&D hauler. Route oil paint/chemicals to HHW voucher separately.
Cart recycling, store film take-back, and foam rules — not a second bulky program.
Official source:
Reno recycling carts do not want expanded polystyrene (EPS). White block foam, packing peanuts, and food trays are different streams. Grocery film/bag bins are not a foam drop-off. City of Reno — Solid Waste & Recycling is the official Reno program we verified — if that page only mentions plastic bags or film, treat block foam and food trays as bagged garbage unless it names a foam densifier. Clean peanuts may be reused at a shipper; starch peanuts are not EPS.
