Bulky pickup in Kenosha
Mattresses, furniture, and many appliances — city bulk or drop-off, not the regular cart.
Official source:
Kenosha city customers get four free bulky collections per year for mattresss — schedule them with Public Works rather than setting items out unannounced. Keep chemicals off the pile.
Household hazardous waste — used oil, paint, propane, batteries, and chemicals.
Official source:
Kenosha collects household hazardous waste at the Kenosha Water Utility, 4401 Green Bay Road, on the first and third Saturday of the month from May through November only — there is no year-round depot. Bring motor oil sealed in its original container on one of those dates and keep chemicals out of the trash cart the rest of the year.
TVs, computers, and electronics. Usually banned from trash and the blue bin.
Official source:
Wisconsin's E-Cycle law bans TVs, monitors and computers from landfills, so Kenosha e waste mixed goes to a registered E-Cycle collector or city drop-off rather than the bulky pile. Screens carry posted fees. Wipe personal data first.
Construction debris, concrete, and remodel waste — transfer station or roll-off.
Official source:
Construction debris is not part of the four free bulky collections. Hire a C&D hauler or use an area transfer site at posted fees. Route paint to an HHW Saturday.
Yard waste, food scraps, and cooking oil where the city has a separate stream.
Official source:
Kenosha yard waste follows the posted seasonal collection schedule; residents can also use the city yard-waste site. Confirm current dates on kenosha.org.
Cart recycling, store film take-back, and foam rules — not a second bulky program.
Official source:
Kenosha recycling carts do not want expanded polystyrene (EPS). White block foam, packing peanuts, and food trays are different streams. Grocery film/bag bins are not a foam drop-off. City of Kenosha — Waste & Recycling is the official Kenosha program we verified — if that page only mentions plastic bags or film, treat block foam and food trays as bagged garbage unless it names a foam densifier. Clean peanuts may be reused at a shipper; starch peanuts are not EPS.
