City of Milwaukee Sanitation customers may set out a small amount of bulky (about a recliner or two carts’ worth) on the regular collection day without an online request. Larger amounts require a fee through 414-286-CITY. Electronics, TVs, appliances, and tires are not bulky — take those to Drop Off Centers (South 3879 W Lincoln Ave; North 6660 N Industrial Rd) with photo ID / Milwaukee residency proof (load fees by volume).
Household hazardous waste — used oil, paint, propane, batteries, and chemicals.

Milwaukee household chemicals go to MMSD (not City trash/bulky). Lincoln Avenue HHW (3879 W Lincoln Ave area) is open Thu–Sat 7:00–15:00; 13th Street is Tue 11:00–18:00 and Sat 8:00–14:00. MMSD accepts latex and oil paint, fluorescents, pesticides, gasoline, and button/rechargeable batteries; 1-lb and 20-lb propane are accepted per the MMSD page. Used oil goes to MMSD / published used-oil outlets — not storm drains. MMSD does not accept appliances, electronics, medical waste/sharps, ammo, or car batteries.

Milwaukee excludes electronics and mixed electronic waste from bulky pickup. Take them to Drop Off Centers (South 3879 W Lincoln Ave; North 6660 N Industrial Rd) with photo ID / Milwaukee residency proof (fees by volume), or use retailer options such as Best Buy. MMSD HHW does not accept electronics. Keep e-waste out of trash and recycling carts.

Construction debris is not ordinary bulky. Take C&D to Drop Off Centers (South 3879 W Lincoln Ave; North 6660 N Industrial Rd) and pay volume-based load fees, or hire a private C&D hauler. Keep paint and chemicals on the MMSD HHW pathway.

Milwaukee runs a yard-food waste program separate from bulky item pickup. Use the city’s yard-food waste carts/set-out rules for leaves, grass, and accepted food scraps. Keep plastic bags out of the recycling cart and follow organics preparation rules.

Milwaukee recycling carts do not want expanded polystyrene (EPS). White block foam, packing peanuts, and food trays are different streams. Grocery film/bag bins are not a foam drop-off. City of Milwaukee — Drop Off Centers is the official Milwaukee program we verified — if that page only mentions plastic bags or film, treat block foam and food trays as bagged garbage unless it names a foam densifier. Clean peanuts may be reused at a shipper; starch peanuts are not EPS.
