Bulky pickup in Richmond
Mattresses, furniture, and many appliances — city bulk or drop-off, not the regular cart.
Official source:
Richmond Bulk & Brush collection runs bi-weekly on your recycling week — free. Mattresses are accepted. Set out per rva.gov bulk-and-brush rules; keep Freon appliances and e-waste off bulk piles.
Household hazardous waste — used oil, paint, propane, batteries, and chemicals.
Official source:
Richmond ERRCC HHW at 3800 East Richmond Rd accepts household hazardous materials free. Used motor oil at ERRCC HHW. Pesticides/herbicides NOT accepted.
TVs, computers, and electronics. Usually banned from trash and the blue bin.
Official source:
Electronics including mixed e-waste are NOT accepted on Richmond Bulk & Brush or curbside trash. Use SECURIS or Richmond e-waste collection events — fees apply. Wipe data before drop-off.
Cart recycling, store film take-back, and foam rules — not a second bulky program.
Official source:
Richmond recycling carts do not want expanded polystyrene (EPS). White block foam, packing peanuts, and food trays are different streams. Grocery film/bag bins are not a foam drop-off. City of Richmond — Trash collection is the official Richmond program we verified — if that page only mentions plastic bags or film, treat block foam and food trays as bagged garbage unless it names a foam densifier. Clean peanuts may be reused at a shipper; starch peanuts are not EPS.
