San Antonio Solid Waste Management provides curbside brush & bulky collection twice per year (look up your week; piles generally ≤8 cubic yards). Residents can also drop mattresses and furniture at Bulky Waste Collection Centers (Bitters, Frio City Road, Culebra, Rigsby) with a recent CPS Energy bill showing the environmental fee and photo ID — bulky limited to about four cubic yards; centers do not accept bagged trash or HHW. Hours typically Tue–Fri 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Sat 8 a.m.–12 p.m.

Household hazardous / special wastes must not go in San Antonio carts. Take them to the HHW program at 7030 Culebra Road or published HHW events with CPS bill + photo ID. Keep materials in original containers; do not mix; 220-pound limit.

Use the permanent HHW drop-off at 7030 Culebra Road (Tue–Fri 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Sat 8 a.m.–12 p.m.) or published monthly/quarterly HHW events. Bring a recent CPS Energy bill showing environmental fee payment and photo ID. Do not put mixed e-waste and printer cartridges in carts.

Construction materials are not for garbage carts. Bulky centers allow about one cubic yard of construction material & lumber (boards under 10 ft); soil/rocks/concrete are unaccepted. Larger C&D needs a private hauler/debris box. Keep HHW out of C&D loads.

San Antonio separates brush/yard materials from garbage. Use your organics/compost cart for eligible food/yard materials per city guides; larger brush follows the brush & bulky schedule or the brush collection center (CPS bill + ID). Christmas tree drop-offs run the first two weeks of January.

San Antonio recycling carts do not want expanded polystyrene (EPS). White block foam, packing peanuts, and food trays are different streams. Grocery film/bag bins are not a foam drop-off. City of San Antonio SWMD — Brush & Bulky Items is the official San Antonio program we verified — if that page only mentions plastic bags or film, treat block foam and food trays as bagged garbage unless it names a foam densifier. Clean peanuts may be reused at a shipper; starch peanuts are not EPS.
