Santa Ana residents with curbside trash get four free bulky pickups per year, up to four items each (beds, sofas, appliances, etc.). Multifamily (3+ units) has a separate quarterly allotment — check the property manager for the setout spot. Schedule with Republic Services at 657-467-6220. City guidance also lists computer monitors, TVs, and laptops as accepted on bulky pickups.

Do not trash HHW in Santa Ana. Use Orange County’s free HHW Collection Centers year-round (Tue–Sat 9 a.m.–3 p.m.) for paint, batteries, automotive fluids, fluorescents, pesticides, and electronics. Limit 15 gallons or 125 pounds per trip. City-sponsored one-day HHW events also occur periodically.

Santa Ana recycling carts do not want expanded polystyrene (EPS). White block foam, packing peanuts, and food trays are different streams. Grocery film/bag bins are not a foam drop-off. City of Santa Ana — Bulky Item Pickup is the official Santa Ana program we verified — if that page only mentions plastic bags or film, treat block foam and food trays as bagged garbage unless it names a foam densifier. Clean peanuts may be reused at a shipper; starch peanuts are not EPS.
