Sacramento residential customers get two free Household Junk Pickup appointments between February and October (excess yard waste separated). Schedule via Sac 311 / 3-1-1 / (916) 264-5011. Set items out only ≤24 hours before the appointment. Extra or leaf-season pickups may be fee-based (Utility Billing). Separately, residents also get two appliance & e-waste collection appointments per calendar year (year-round).

Sacramento recycling carts do not want expanded polystyrene (EPS). White block foam, packing peanuts, and food trays are different streams. Grocery film/bag bins are not a foam drop-off. City of Sacramento — Household Junk Pickup is the official Sacramento program we verified — if that page only mentions plastic bags or film, treat block foam and food trays as bagged garbage unless it names a foam densifier. Clean peanuts may be reused at a shipper; starch peanuts are not EPS.
